Coming off of losing his vision to a brain tumor, to regaining his vision upon the tumor's removal (via brain surgery) in 2019; Boogie Woods takes nothing for granted and expresses it through his music! You can hear how much agony, elation, love, and commitment Boogie experiences and has through his symphonious choruses and contentious verses. While listening to his music you can hear the influence of artists such as Travis Scott, Trippie Redd, Lil Durk, G Herbo and many more.

Boogie Woods was born on February 22, 1999 in Trotwood, Ohio where he still resides today. He is a Hip-Hop recording artist falling under the subgenre of Melodic Trap. Boogie was first interested in making music and began writing songs at the age of 11, but would not officially record his first song until the age of 13. Boogie Woods credits his entire family for exposing him to music at a very young age and sparking his initial interest in creating it. He recalls being exposed to Gospel, Christian Hip-Hop, Rap, Neo-Soul, Soul, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Country, and Alternative music from various members of his family.

THE STORY BEHIND “DO IT”

“Do It” is my first single of 2023 so I wanted to open up this year strong! This single gives my listeners a chance to take a slight glance behind the curtains of what it’s like to be Boogie Woods. The subject matter of this song includes ambition, success, finances, cars, religion, relationships, and growth. The process behind this song took 2 studio sessions with an accumulative 6 hours of non-stop work between them. I enjoy taking time with my art to make it sound exactly how I’ve imagined it sounding in my head. I made this song to show my fans that I’m back with quality music and have a new sound that I can’t wait to develop more and showcase to them.
